Since the opening of MICA's first residential housing facility in 1993, the College has continuously focused on strengthening the student life experience.Over the past twenty-five years, MICA has recognized the importance of a robust student life program that complements the rigor and intensity of the student academic experience. We have broadened our housing program to over 1,000 beds and now offer a holistic residential experience.

The 2D Prototyping Studio is closed until future notice.

The 2D Prototyping Studio serves students who want to take a tactile approach to basic binding, Riso printing, paper cutting, and other work in prototyping or multiples.

Use tools like a 2 drum Risograph MF9450, WireMac 21 wire binder, paper guillotine, light boxes, screw punch, circle cutters, button makers, and more -- to make a wide variety of paper-oriented projects.

The Chess and Board Games Club is a friendly space for everyone who enjoys playing chess and other board games. Everyone from the MICA community is welcome to join and hang out here, whether you'd like to learn how to play, improve your skills, or just want to have a cup of tea. We aim to promote not only Chess, but also other cool yet lesser-known games like Shogi and Xiangqi to wider audiences and give these more traditional board games the attention they deserve, and figure out how to make them thrive in this new age of the digital. We will host events such as learning how to play a new game and (hopefully) tournaments, so stay around and check them out!

The mission of the MICA Chinese Students and Scholars Association is to build an inclusive, supportive, and creative community for Chinese students and scholars at MICA. We are dedicated to helping students adapt to campus life, encouraging artistic collaboration, and fostering meaningful connections through social events, professional networking, and community engagement.

At the same time, CSSA is committed to promoting Chinese traditional culture, arts, and festivals to the broader campus community. Through cultural celebrations, exhibitions, workshops, and public events such as Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Dragon Boat Festival activities, we aim to create opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and deepen understanding and appreciation of Chinese heritage within MICA’s diverse environment.

Club J serves to create a community around the TC2 loom, providing workshops and demos, materials for the loom, covering warp costs for members, and hosting events such as artist talks or field trips related to the Jacquard loom. The M.F.A. in Community Arts program prepares artists to use their artmaking as a means of civic, youth, and community development, activism, education and more.

The program provides you with a thorough grounding in theory and practice, beginning with coursework that highlights the relationship between the artist, art, and community. Real-world experience that integrates independent artmaking with community-based projects provides you with the opportunity to investigate how artists help communities articulate their own unique creative identity, and how these communities, in turn, inspire the students' own creative expression.
